SUPERIOR POWDER COATING

North Basin Coating, Inc. began in 1982 as a three-person operation and has since experienced several periods of growth. What began as a pipe, valve, and fitting coating company catering mostly to the oil industry has diversified into a multifaceted powder coating operation.

We were the first company in West Texas to offer electrostatic powder application. Our first application for powder coating was to the exterior of the pipe that we were coating internally. We have seen the advantages and many uses for powder coating and have expanded our applications to include the agriculture, industrial, and construction markets.

Today, North Basin Coating, Inc. is one of the largest, cleanest, and most modern powder coating facilities in the United States. We have two facilities; one in Levelland, TX, which includes 66,000 square feet under roof on 15 acres with two (2) indoor blasting rooms and seven (7) ovens. Our other location is in Odessa, TX, and consists of 39,000 square feet under roof on 3 acres with two (2) indoor blasting rooms and four (4) ovens. We can coat a wide range of items of all diameters from small parts to those up to 43' (flange-face to flange-face) long and weighing 8,000 pounds.

What separates us from the competition are our high standards of customer service, our turn-around time, our state-of-the-art process and extraordinary levels of quality control. We have 3 NACE/AMPP Certified Coating Inspectors on staff (two Level II and one Level 1) and are a member of the Powder Coating Institute. We are extremely rigorous, have a strong safety program and our detailed inspection protocol ensures we deliver the highest quality product. KEN HARDING

PRESIDENT / CFO

Born and raised in Lubbock and having returned to West Texas, Ken joined the North Basin Coating team in early 2017 after spending 25+ years as CFO of a privately held E&P company in East Texas. Prior to that, he held positions at Deloitte and Touche and a UK E&P company – both in Dallas. Ken has oversight responsibilities over all aspects of operations and direct responsibility over the accounting and finance, administration, HR and IT functions within North Basin. A CPA, Ken received his BBA from Texas Tech and his MBA from The University of Texas at Tyler.

Matt Lemaire

Chief Operating Officer

Matt Lemaire serves as Chief Operating Officer of North Basin Coating, bringing nearly two decades of hands-on and leadership experience within the oil and gas industry. A graduate of Sundown High School, Matt began his career in oilfield supply and production-related roles, gaining firsthand experience in parts sales, inventory management, downhole pump assembly and repair, and pipeline fabrication before joining North Basin Coating in 2013. At North Basin, Matt developed extensive experience in coatings, estimating, technical services, and business development, including becoming a NACE Certified Coating Inspector. He later broadened his experience in pipeline and facility construction before returning to North Basin and ultimately advancing to Chief Operating Officer. Today, Matt provides executive oversight of North Basin’s operations, with a focus on operational excellence, team development, customer relationships, quality, and strategic growth. His career—from hands-on oilfield roles to executive leadership—provides him with a practical understanding of the people, processes, and customers that drive North Basin’s success.

HUMBERTO "BETO" TORRES-REYES

OPERATIONS MANAGER

Humberto Torres has been a dedicated member of the North Basin Coating team for approximately 17 years. Humberto began as a driver before advancing through several key roles, including Lead Blaster, Shop Foreman, Plant Manager, and ultimately his current position as Operations Manager. In his role as Operations Manager, Humberto oversees the operational side of North Basin Coating’s facilities in Odessa and Levelland, Texas. His hands-on experience at nearly every level of the operation gives him a strong understanding of the coating process, day-to-day production, quality expectations, and the importance of building and supporting a strong team. Humberto is an AMPP Certified Coatings Inspector (formerly NACE Level II) and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. He takes great pride in the growth of North Basin Coating and in helping develop a culture centered around teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Originally from Chicago, Humberto moved to Texas in 2007 and has proudly made Texas his home. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three boys, who remain his greatest source of pride and motivation.

Jose "Joe" Flores

HSE MANAGER

Jose joined the North Basin Coating team in May of 2025. Prior to joining the North Basin Coating team, he was an Assistant Fuels Manager at a local CO-OP and a Route Delivery Driver/Salesman in packaged and bulk gas for 14 years. The prior positions he held were very DOT and safety oriented. His position at North Basin Coating is Compliance Specialist. His responsibilities include DOT regulatory compliance and powder coating operations, supporting our organization in maintaining a safe, efficient, and fully compliant workplace. He manages audits, reduces compliance risks, and ensures adherence to federal, state, and industry standards.

Armando Loya

Plant Manager - Odessa Facility

Armando has been a dedicated member of the North Basin Coating team for 11 years. His career with the company reflects his strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to growth. He began as a Lead Grinder before advancing through several key roles, including External Coater, Floater, and Shop Foreman, ultimately earning his current position as Plant Manager.

With a background in liquid paint and years of hands-on experience in the coating industry, Armando brings a practical and knowledgeable approach to leadership. As Plant Manager, he is committed to supporting his team, maintaining high standards of quality and productivity, and helping ensure the facility operates safely and efficiently.

Outside of work, Armando enjoys spending time with his family and watching soccer.

Heriberto "Hery" Rodriguez Zapata

Shop Foreman - Odessa Facility

Heriberto “Hery” Rodriguez is currently in his second tenure with North Basin Coating, bringing a combined three years of experience with the company. Prior to joining NBC, Hery worked in the oilfield trucking industry as a CDL driver, gaining valuable experience in the demanding oil and gas environment. Hery began his career at North Basin Coating as a grinder before moving into Quality Control, where he gained valuable knowledge of NBC’s coating processes, quality standards, and customer expectations. Throughout his three years with the company, he continued to grow and develop his leadership skills while gaining hands-on experience managing daily yard operations. His experience and dedication have led him to his current position as Shop Foreman, where he helps oversee production, coordinate workflow, and ensure the team maintains NBC’s standards for quality and productivity. Outside of work, Hery enjoys spending time with his family and watching baseball.

Alex Garcia

Business Development

Involved in the Oil and Gas Industry for the last 10 years (and with North Basin for over 9 of those years), Alex has experience as a driver, assistant shop foreman and in field sales. Utilizing what he has learned from these activities along with his great relationships building skills (he desires to not only make sales, but to make friends with those to whom he sells), Alex is an integral part of our Business Development team.

Alex Lack

Marketing Coordinator & Corporate Estimator

Alex joined North Basin Coating in November 2025 as the Marketing Coordinator. With nearly five years of experience in marketing and digital media creation, he oversees the company’s social platforms, technology needs, and design projects. He holds a degree in Digital Media Applications from Lubbock Christian University, where he graduated in 2024.

YESENIA MARCHAN

ACCOUNTING/ADMIN LEAD

Having been with North Basin since early 2018, Yesenia's focus is the accounting department (and related areas). She is bilingual and has just recently finished her Associates degree in Accounting. When not at work, Yesenia enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children.

ANDREA MENDEZ

ACCOUNTING/ADMIN Assistant

Joining North Basin in early 2018 in the company's Odessa office, Andrea is originally from New Mexico and holds an Associates of Arts degree. She is bilingual and has experience in multiple industries including the medical, education and laboratory science fields. She serves as the Company's accounting arm in Odessa as well as assisting the Plant Manager in administrative matters. Andrea loves watching her kids participate in the numerous sporting activities in which they are involved.

VICTORIA FRANCO

ACCOUNTING/ADMIN ASSISTANT

Victoria joined the North Basin team in Levelland in 2021. She is bilingual and has her Associates Degree in Office Technology. Although her primary job function is in accounting at North Basin, she is also involved in HR and several other administrative areas within the company. In addition to spending time with her husband and 3 boys, Victoria enjoys spending her time outside of work crafting, baking and cake decorating.

JACQUELYN MARCHAN

ACCOUNTING CLERK

Jacquelyn joined North Basin Coating in September of 2023 as part of our Levelland team. In addition to being a great communicator, she is bilingual and assists with accounting/admin as well as assisting our operations team with database management. She is very busy in her free time with her one-year old baby girl, Kathryn. but also enjoys drawing and listening to all genres of music.
